Micro FPV Racing Drone

Everything about the Makerfire Micro FPV drone is small. The drone is small, the box is small. I got no instructions and there was no controller included in my box.

It is a nice looking drone, and it is equipped with a small camera on the front topside.

The Makerfire Micro FPV drone is about the size of your palm and weights about 22 grams.

It seem to be inspired by something called the Tiny Whoop drone kit.

Impact Resistant Indoor Drone

You wont need prop guards, as there is built in propeller protection. This is also part of why it is impact resistant. Which is a good quality to have in an indoor drone.

What is In The Box

The sturdy box only contains the drone, a battery, an USB charger and a service card.

There is no manual, and there are no spare props.

The quadcopter is ready to fly, all you need to do is to bind it with the transmitter.

The size of the quadcopter is 2.52 x 2.52 x 1.57 inches. About the palm of you hand.

The battery is LiPo 3.7V 200mAh 35C. It takes around 30 minutes to charge by USB.

Camera

The camera is very small, but has surprisingly good image quality with a resolution of 520TVL.

Controller

There is no controller included in the BNF, bind and fly, package. The drone works with Spektrum DSMX and DMS2 transmitters. The range is around 300 meters.

Flying

The Makerfire Micro delivers an amazing performance for the price. It is fast, easy to control and fun to fly.

The best value VR Goggles to use with the drone in my opinion is the Eachine VR-007.

Flight Time

One of the drawbacks of this fun quadcopter is the short flight time. It is advertised as 5 minutes, but seems to be more like 3 or 4 minutes. I highly recommend that you buy more batteries, you can get them in bundles.

There is also a charging board you can get that can charge up to 6 batteries at once.

Final Verdict

I highly recommend Makerfires Micro FPV drone. A small instructions booklet would have been nice though! It is easy to control, but binding was a bit messy. And make sure that you have a controller that works with it before you order.

The price and the fun flying is the highlight of this indoor quadcopter. Could also be a cool drone to get started with the basics of drone racing, if you use VR Goggles.
